Resident Evil Requiem Full Walkthrough: Wrenwood & Sanatorium Guide (Part 1)

Welcome to Part 1 of our ultimate Resident Evil Requiem Full Walkthrough. This guide is designed to help you navigate the terrifying world of RE9 while securing every single item needed for your Platinum trophy.

Pre-Playthrough Notes:

A standard first playthrough takes about 12 hours. Getting all achievements will realistically take 4-5 playthroughs.
Global Collectibles: 25 Mr. Raccoons, 75 Files, 5 Safes, 3 BSAA Crates. We suggest getting all of these on your first run.
Restriction Achievements: Do NOT worry about the "No Herbs/Syringes", "No Grace's Blood Extractor", or "Under 4 Hours Speedrun" achievements on your first playthrough. Save these for a subsequent Easy mode run.
Key items are marked in Bold. Collectibles are marked with stars (★) or specific symbols (☆/□). Mount Rose Sanatorium makes up nearly half of the entire game!

1. Wrenwood City (Grace & Leon)

[Grace] Read the ☆[File 1/75] Wrenwood City Tourist Guide on the sidewalk board. Open your inventory and read the ☆[File 2/75] Investigation Report.
Enter the quarantine zone. Check the pillar by the bar to find a photo. Flip it over to get the Old Key.
Use the key to open the door. On the 1F [Lobby], grab ☆[File 3/75] Hotel Brochure from the floor.
In the [Office], check the desk for ☆[File 4/75] Closure Notice and grab the Wrenwood Hotel Map.
Head to 2F. Grab the Wire Cutters from the pool table near the stairs to cut the wire on the door handle.
Proceed to the bed, grab the photo, and trigger the flashback sequence (purely linear).
Back in the present, find the matching painting in the 1F [Lobby]. Examine it to get a package and ☆[File 5/75] Alyssa's Notepad.
After a short cutscene, take the Emergency Exit Key, run upstairs, and unlock the EXIT door. You will encounter Victor.
[Leon] Control briefly switches to Leon. Push forward and eliminate enemies. You will automatically receive ☆[File 6/75] Victor Gideon Investigation Report.

2. Mount Rose Sanatorium - Ground Floors (Grace)

[Room 203] Grab ☆[File 7/75] Medical Record by the lamp. Leave the room, turn right, and walk to the horse statue. Turn left to the end and check the drawer for the Cherub Key.
Use the key on Room 201 to get the Lighter. In Room 202, check the cabinet for ☆[File 8/75] Box Note.
Head to the Nurse's Station opposite 203. A chase sequence triggers; run back to Room 201.
Return to the Nurse's Station. Push the cart forward-right, stand on it, and grab the red toolbox from the cabinet to get the Screwdriver.
Go back to Room 201, remove the Fuse, and place it in the fuse box by the horse statue.
[Leon] A tense combat sequence begins. Pick up the chainsaw after it drops, use it to cut the door lock, and shoot ★[Mr. Raccoon 01] on the fireplace ahead. (Listen closely: these toys make a distinct clicking sound!)

Exploring the West Wing (1F/2F)

Control returns to Grace for a long exploration phase.

Enter the 1F [Guard Room]. Grab ☆[File 9/75] Sanatorium Brochure on the desk and ☆[File 10/75] Whiteboard Scribbles on the wall.
Trigger the little girl cutscene. Pick up the West Wing Keycard from the floor and use it to unlock the West Wing.
In the[Kitchen], push the large pot behind the cook. In the Dining Room, grab the Handgun B934. (Kill the cook for the "Order Up!" achievement and the Pantry Key).
Take the NW stairs to 2F. Grab the West Wing 2F Map.
In the[Bar Lounge], get the Handgun S&S M232. The safe code here is □ L10 - R80 - L30 (or R20-L50-R30 on Insane).
In the [Exhibition Room], check the hanging coat for ☆[File 11/75] Folded Note.
In the [Director's Room], open the small box on the left for a Ruby. Read ☆[File 12/75] Email to Manager.
In the back room, grab the Pencil and read ☆[File 13/75] Note to Director in the trash. Use the pencil on the notepad to read ☆[File 14/75] Director's Notes. (Puzzle answer: Moon-Sun-Star-Moon) to get the Moon Crystal.
Use the Ruby to open the 1F [Playroom]. Prioritize buying the Hip Pouch, followed by the Matsuoka User Guide. Grab the East Wing Keycard from the severed hand on the floor.

Exploring the East Wing (1F/2F)

Unlock the East Wing. In the [East Reception Room], shoot ★[Mr. Raccoon 02].
In the [Examination Room], the safe code is □ R30 - L10 - R50. The patient here needs an Artificial Heart and Lung.
In the[Blood Lab], read ☆[File 15/75] Blood Compound Synthesis. Grab the Blood Extractor and Mutated Blood Sample, then place the sample into the left laser microscope for analysis. (Note: Do not do this on a future run if you are aiming for the "No Blood Extractor" achievement).
In the[Waiting Room], read ☆[File 16/75] Safe Replacement Notice. (Throw a bottle at a zombie to hit another blind zombie for the "Internal Strife" achievement).
Shoot ★[Mr. Raccoon 03] in the easternmost stairwell.
Head to 2F to get the East Wing 2F Map and the Level 1 ID Wristband. A fat zombie spawns; kill it as Grace for the "Grace and the Giant" achievement.

Level 1 ID Backtracking

1F West [Archives] (South): Grab the Hip Pouch.
1F East [Blood Lab]: Get the Reversible Blood Sample and read ☆[File 25/75] Victor's Notes.
1F East [Storage Room] (South of Waiting Room): Get the Converging Blood Sample.
1F West [Janitor's Room]: Read ☆[File 26/75] Construction Notice, get the Hex Wrench. Go to the Garage to get the Organ Transport Box (contains the Lung, wait to open).
Take the SW stairs to 2F[Office]. Read ☆[File 28/75] Background Check Record, ☆[File 27/75] Bar Lounge Safe Code, and ☆[File 29/75] Cleanup Team Report.
In the [Hot Water Room], shoot ★[Mr. Raccoon 04].
Use the Hex Wrench on the Cold Room to get the Artificial Heart. Install it in the Examination Room patient.
Near the [Seminar Room], read ☆[File 21/75] Examination Room Safe Code and ☆[File 22/75] Patient Records. Grab the Metal Solvent. Go to the [Chief Researcher's Office] for a cutscene.
Return to the office to read ☆[Files 18-20] Researcher Photos 1-3 and ☆[File 17/75] Chief Researcher's Message. Get the Lockpick. Use the solvent to solve the puzzle (Star-Sun-Moon-Sun) and get the Sun Crystal. Read ☆[File 24/75] Organ Transport Box Guide and ☆[File 23/75] Spencer's Research Report 1.

Install the Heart and Lung to get the Level 2 ID Wristband. Open the 1F East [Isolation Ward]. Read ☆[File 30/75] Secondary Mutation and ☆[File 31/75] Nurse's Log. Fold the notebook on the desk for the code (Star-Star-Moon-Sun). Get the Level 3 ID Wristband.

🚨 POINT OF NO RETURN WARNING 🚨 Before touching the little girl to start the escort mission, ensure you have collected all files so far. You will not be able to return to the Sanatorium wards for a very long time!

Shoot ★[Mr. Raccoon 05] in the room next to the little girl. Escort her to the Security Chief's Room, survive the defense sequence, and trigger the cutscene.

3. Mount Rose Sanatorium - Leon's Intervention

Control switches to Leon.

Before moving the cabinet, read ☆[File 32/75] Eating Disorder Patient Record.
Pick up the MSBG 500 before the fat zombie boss.
After the fight, open the wooden cabinet to read ☆[File 33/75] Underground Safe Code.
Leon can pry open 4 wooden cabinets and 3 wooden doors that Grace couldn't.
Pry open the left cabinet in the 2F [Director's Room] to read ☆[File 34/75] Dishwasher's Note.
Pry open the wooden cabinet in the 2F [Data Room] and shoot ★[Mr. Raccoon 06].
Reach the 3rd Floor, flip the switch, and survive the defense battle. You will automatically receive ☆[Files 35 & 36] Raccoon City Special Ops Order & Syndrome Report.

4. Mount Rose Sanatorium - Underground (Grace)

Control returns to Grace in the Underground area.

Read ☆[File 37/75] Staff Suicide Note on the ground. In the Monitor Room, read ☆[File 38/75] "Girl" Eradication Operation.
Go east in the Confinement Zone to the end. Read ☆[File 39/75] Cell Door Instructions and grab Junction Plug 1.
Restore power in the [Workshop], shoot ★[Mr. Raccoon 07], and read ☆[File 41/75] Technician's Note.
In the NW area, grab Junction Plug 2. The safe code here is □ R60 - L40 - R80 (Rewards Raccoon Tracker Map). Read ☆[File 40/75] Security Guard's Report.
Restore power in the [Rest Room], shoot ★[Mr. Raccoon 08], and get the Molotov Recipe.
Restore power in the NE [Boiler Room] to get the Square Socket Wrench.
Use the wrench at the[Blood Pool] and insert two Junction Plugs. Head west to the Treatment Plant.
Grab the Hoist Key and use it to get a Hip Pouch and the Underground Map. Navigate through the[Suspension Room] from the NW to reach the north side of the plant to grab Junction Plug 3.
Return to the east side of the Confinement Room and insert all 3 plugs. Run right to the elevator immediately! You will obtain the Star Crystal and a Severed Hand, allowing you to leave the building.

5. The Courtyard & Lab (Grace & Leon)

[Grace] Run outside until the helicopter cutscene. Enter the nearby building to read ☆[File 42/75] Visitor Log.
In the VIP Room, read ☆[File 43/75] Research Results Note. (Fun fact: You can dismantle and take the hourglass here, though it's completely useless).
Spin the wine bottle to get the Double Helix Model and place it in the center.
In the [Reception Room], read ☆[File 44/75] Spencer's Research Report 2 by the typewriter.
In the [Blood Storage Lab], read ☆[File 45/75] Experiment 170 Record and grab the Underground Lab Map.
In the [Lab], read ☆[File 46/75] Grace's Blood Analysis. Shoot ★[Mr. Raccoon 09], get the Helicopter Key, and use the computer to open the gate.
Flee through the north escape route back to the helicopter.
[Leon] Control briefly switches to Leon. Look left out the window, aim down your sights, and shoot ★[Mr. Raccoon 10]. Defend Grace, then head downstairs for a boss fight.
[Grace] Return to Grace. Read ☆[File 47/75] Canopy Operation Manual by the typewriter.
Checkpoint: This marks the end of the Mount Rose area files. Check your collection list now!
(Achievement Alert: Use the Requiem weapon to stun the large monster with about 5 shots for the "Big Gun for Big Problems" achievement).
Grab the Crank Handle from the [Archives], restore power, and open the canopy.

This concludes Grace's primary section. It's time to return to Raccoon City with Leon in Part 2!
